Becoming a Better Ancestor--how I learned to love the American hemisphere, and the Earth

In the foreign service, learning Spanish lead me to a broader understanding of “America,” a word that covers both north and south in this hemisphere.  I loved and learned from raising kids, and from serving as a pastor.  As a retiree in Gettysburg, I’m learning a broader definition of being a citizen of the planet.  To go beyond worry about the world we will leave to our descendants, I want to improve things now, and become a better ancestor.   As a “Living Book” I’d like to share some of the biography that led me here, and some of what I want to do to improve.
