Program Description

Description

The New Oxford Library joins the New Oxford Historical Society in a very special New Oxford evening tour led by Mike Schen, providing a visual glimpse back to the early days of Oxford-town, as it was first named.

The tour will focus on the early growth years of Oxford-town - up through the chaos and uncertainty of the Civil War - and the community those early families built. Many of their works remain and are critical to the preservation of New Oxford’s historic center-village character.

The tour will commence at 7:00 pm at the parking area adjacent to the New Oxford Library and the Borough Building, 122 N. Peters St., New Oxford, and will involve brief yet short periods of walking.  It will last approximately one and a quarter hours.
