The American Library in Paris: A Brief Architectural History
Tuesday, October 10
7PM
In conjunction with the Adam’s County Reads One Book book club discussion of the American Library, this presentation will provide a summary overview of the history of the American Library in Paris. Topics to be explored include the development and evolution of the library from its first location on rue de l’Élysée to its current location at rue du Général Camou. Summary discussions on the history of the library’s neighborhoods, key architectural trends, and differences between American and French library systems will provide context for the greater understanding and appreciation of the library.

The presentation will be led by Kirsten Peeler. Ms. Peeler has more than 20 years’ experience in the field of cultural resources management. She has conducted research on buildings throughout the United States and targeted research on buildings in France. She received her undergraduate degree in International Relations from Mount Holyoke College and a master’s degree in Historic Preservation from Columbia University.

Registration Required.
