A New 24/7 Access to ACLS Educational Programming
Your friends at the Adams County Library System (ACLS) are excited to begin a new decade of learning and fun. Have you checked out our new YouTube channel yet? We record many of our programs for children, teens and adults and currently there are over 200 videos to watch - when it’s convenient for you. The ACLS YouTube Channel is full of abundant content such as our Digital Story Times, Digital Baby/Toddler Story Times, Spooky Saturday videos, Book Reviews, Author Visits and more.  New content is added weekly so subscribe to be notified of updates. (You can also catch my interviews via Zoom with New York Times bestselling authors Jamie Ford, Christina Baker Kline and Amanda Eyre Ward. That was so much fun!)
Express Your Love with an Honor Book
Looking for a way to show special appreciation to a loved one this Valentine’s Day or upcoming milestone? The ACLS accepts donations of $35 per book to expand our collection. An Honor Book donation offers a lasting tribute for friends, family, teachers, front-line workers, co-workers, and even those purrrfect pets in your life. The ACLS staff will take into consideration the subject and preferred genre and provide a “name plate” in each book with wording approved by the donor. We can take your Honor Book Request in person at any of our six convenient branch locations or you can make the request on line at www.AdamsLibrary.org. An acknowledgment can be sent to both the donor and to the person or family being honored. It’s a great way to say, “I love you” and “thank you” and to provide lifelong learning opportunities for the residents throughout Adams County. Speaking of thank you…
Thank You for Helping Your Local Library
Thanks to generous donors, we met our “Be a Deer Dear” and #GivingTuesday fundraising goals for 2020. How wonderful! I am so humbled and thankful for this community’s willingness to help the ACLS to continue and expand lifelong learning opportunities for the residents of Adams County. You are dear to us and every dollar donated is important. And the new furniture for the New Oxford Library has been ordered so you’ll have to stop by soon.
$20.21 Anyone?
To continue to meet the needs of our community, we have launched a new campaign, Goodbye 2020; Hello, $20.21. We’re seeking help to raise funds to build our collection of materials for all ages including books, eBooks, and eAudiobooks. Support this effort by donating at any of our 6 branches, mailing a check made payable to the Adams County Library System to 140 Baltimore Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325, or through our secure website at www.AdamsLibrary.org. Thank you for joining us in the pursuit of our vision: Every Life Fulfilled!
P.S. Not able to go to a branch at this time? We’ll mail library materials to any resident of Adams County who is temporarily or permanently handicapped, elderly, or ill and is unable to visit a library. You may borrow books, audiobooks on CD, or DVDs. There is no cost for you to use Library by Mail. Sign up at adamslibrary.org or simply call us at 717.334.5716.
