The Library in Your Community

Happy National Library Card Sign-Up Month!  The Adams County Library is spending the month celebrating National Library Card Sign-Up Month by holding coloring parties at some locations, bringing a New York Times Bestselling author to town, and spending time at other community events in the county.

On Saturday, September 22nd, please join us at Ready, Set, Read! – a popup library at the Outlet Shoppes at Gettysburg from noon-3:00pm.  We will be at the Gazebo, and Mr. George will be holding special storytimes at 12:30, 1:30 and 3:30.  You’ll be able to sign up for a library card and get information about any of the resources that we have available for use.  Plus, a special guest, Elmo, will be joining us throughout the afternoon!

You have a few more days to get your tickets to our Signature Event with New York Times Bestselling Author Christina Baker Kline.  She will be at the Wyndham Gettysburg on Friday, September 28th.  Tickets are available at any Adams County Library location or via our website at adamslibrary.org.  All tickets must be purchased by September 19.

From 5:00-8:00pm on Thursday, September 27, the Carroll Valley Library will be hosting a Coloring Party!  The library will have coloring sheets, crayons, and colored pencils all for your use.  Stop in and color your stress away with this fun activity.

On Saturday, September 29th we will be at our final event of the month – the 2018 Fall Fest at Cross Keys Community Park.  Meet Emily, the Branch Manager of the New Oxford Area Library and have all of your questions about the library answered.  We’ll have library cards, information, and perhaps a book giveaway or two.

We hope you’ll be able to join us at some of these fun events.  Don’t forget to check out all of the activities that we will be hosting in October for Adams County Reads One Book.  That information is out now!
