On this date David McCullough, renowned historian of the American people and often honored with many literary prizes as well as The Presidential Medal of Freedom, will voice a CD of several of his speeches which he has collected under the title "The American Spirit: Who We Are and What We Stand For."  

Mr. McCullough's books include "The Greater Journey," "John Adams," "Truman,"Brave Companions" and "The Johnstown Flood."

The program will begin at 12 PM in the USS Eisenhower Room on the third floor of the Gettysburg Library.  Allow on and a half hours for a full program that will include a discussion period.  The program is free of charge.
