Story time at 10:30am - Chinese Fairytales

Bug Olympics - Play bug games after story time until 12 noon.  Bring your own earth worm for “Worm Races”.

Roy Smethers of East Berlin will have lanterns & other items from China to share from his recent trip there.

Craft Week during the library’s regular hours:

     Monday, June 30 thru Thursday, July 3.

 

Programming events for all ages on Wednesday mornings @   10:30 am.  Most events will be at the East Berlin VFW.  The VFW is providing their room free of charge!  Thanks to the VFW!

 * July 9 - “Shadow of a Bug”

 * July 16 - “Busy Buzzin’ Bees” (at the library)

 * July 23 - “Catch the Reading Bug”

 * July 30 - “Bug Out with the AOK Players”

 * Aug. 6 - “Bug Man” with local entomologist, Ryan Bridge.

 

3rd thru 6th grade students will have special programs on Wednesday afternoons @ 1:30 pm in the library beginning June 18.

 * July 9 - Things that Change!  Focus on Animorphs book series

 * July 16 - Lets get Buggy!     * July 23 - Recycling Day

 * July 30 - Things that Crawl!

 * Aug. 6 - Things that slither & squirm!

 

Pre-school thru 2nd grade story times on Friday mornings @ 10:30am in the library for 30 minutes beginning June 13.

* July 31 - “Barry B. Benson, a bee who just graduated from college, ventures outside of the hive & talks to a human.”

* August 21 - “Based on Thomas Rockwell book, 11-year-old Billy challenges the school bully & accepts the dare of eating 10 worms in a day.”

A Storytelling program for all ages.

Wed, June 25th @ 10:30am @ East Berlin VFW – “Jim Rule”

Entertainer for all ages! Come sing along with Jim!

Mon, June 30 – Thur, July 3rd – during library hours – “Craft Week”

Visit the library during regular hours and make a craft to take home!

Wed, July 9th @ 10:30am @ East Berlin VFW – “Shadow of the Bug”

Tuckers’ Tales Puppet Theatre will present a shadow puppet show for children of all ages. Performance will last about 40 minutes.

Wed, July 16th @ 10:30am @ Library – “Busy Buzzin’ Bees”

Virginia Green from AC library will teach us all about bee keeping.

Wed, July 23rd @ 10:30am @ East Berlin VFW – “Catch the Reading Bug”

John Andrews will entertain us with a good clean fun-filled magic show for the entire family. This show features audience participation. This show will last about 45 minutes.

Wed, July 30th @ 10:30am @ East Berlin VFW – “Bug Out with the AOK Players” Do bugs scare you? Do you wan one for a pet? What if one day you woke up and you had become a bug? Explore all these questions and more in a fun-filled, creepy-crawly-infested AOK show. Come see why everyone’s Buzzin’ about this talented troupe of actors.

Wed, August 6th @ 10:30am @ East Berlin VFW – “Bug Man”

Local Entomologist, Ryan Bridge, will share with us all of his knowledge of bugs.

Story times this summer!

Preschool Through Second Grade Students

Fridays are Community Story time Days @ the East Berlin Community Library. Starting at 10:30pm Miss Sherry will lead story times each week with great stories and fun activities each Friday morning. Story times are for pre-school through second grade children and will last about 30 minutes.

June 13: Caterpillar to Butterfly

June 20: Spiders

June 27: Worms

July 11: Beetles

July 18: Bees

July 25: Flies

August 1: Ants

 

Third through Sixth Grade Students

Children who are going into 3rd grade – 6th grade will be able to attend special programming on Wednesday afternoons at 1:30pm. In the sessions, led by Miss Sherry, children will be introduced to new books, discuss books and participate in fun activities each week.

June 18: Spiderwick Day

June 25: Buggy about Gardening

July 9: Things that Change! Focus on Animorphs book series!

July 16: Lets get buggy!

July 23: Recycling Day!

July 30: Things that Fly!

Dinner and a Movie Nights

On Movie Nights the library will provide Hot Dogs and families are asked to bring their own drinks and a side dish to share with everyone.

Dinner will begin at 5:30pm with the movie starting at 6:00pm.
