Applying for a Library Card

Any resident of Adams County, or child of a resident of Adams County, is eligible for a free library card.

To register for a library card, all you have to do is visit any library facility in the county and bring with you some form of ID which verifies that you live in Adams County.  Acceptable forms of ID are driver’s license, first class mail delivered to your home, deed or lease agreements.

You can also apply online for library card.  Your card will be mailed to you and you will have to verify your address the first time you check out any materials.

A card is good for three years.  You can renew your card by verifying that the address is correct.

Once your card is created, you will be registered in our system and can use any service.  You may use your card to place holds on books in our catalog or to renew any materials in our catalog by going to our renew books link.  To get into your account, enter your patron ID which is the 14 digit number on the back of your library card.  Enter it as if it is a single number, no space.  Your pin is the last four digits of your patron ID.  You can change your pin number in your account, however, if you do there is no way for us to let you know what that new pin number is.

Your card will also give you access to all the databases to which the library subscribes.
